 LSX Loose Latch

Cover looks great and matched my paint perfectly. The A.R.E. key latch is loose and I have about given up on it ever being tight. I put it down in place, lock it up and drive away only to see the latch working it's way up. For the price, one would expect the functionality of all parts to operate perfectly. The first issue I had was the fit of the top on my truck bed. It was mounted over the four tie downs. I had the guys at Truck Stuff on Stockton Blvd. remove it and reinstall it. The fit has never been straight but it does not leak so I figure I am fine. When I pull along side other trucks with various tops, I admire the tight looking fit compared to mine, but the loose latch is what bothers me the most.

 Few complaints

This is a sideways review since I need to find out how to replace the high-mount brake light on my Z ARE cap. It is badly faded, and the LEDS have not all worked consistently since shortly after purchase 9 + years ago. Also, the rear window lift cylinders never held the window high enough, and now they don't work well at all. It was the third A.R.E. cap that I purchased, so I must like the product! I also have the BEDRUG. Fantastic accessory.

While no longer trying to turn female heads due to my advanced years I still like the appearance of the tonneau cover with sport wing. Driving a chick magnet is still fun. A.R.E. is the gold standard for caps having had one from 1997-2004 having it repainted once for a replacement F150. Made a mistake buying a competitor's in 2006. And am now happily back in the A.R.E. fold.
