I own a small water quality improvement company and I needed taller cap for my old long bed Toyota Tundra, so I had my local Line-X dealer order a custom DCU for me. The roof of the cap had a long seam running front to back that leaked water, I had my dealer seal the roof by spraying it with Line-X. Once the leak was fixed, I was a happy A.R.E. customer. The full size hatch is very nice, and it provides shelter & shade while I am working on water treatment equipment. The added height of the tall wedge is extremely nice... I have not hit my head on the roof like I was with my old cap.

I haul a lot of equipment around for my outfitting business and require space, durability and something that also looks good for my clients. The DCU does it all!

I ordered a CX HD for my Tacoma and took delivery late last year. I’ve been fighting leaks ever since. All windows leak, the front slider window only opens 1/4 of the way and is almost impossible to close and the paint is starting to bubble in one spot. The fit and finish of this topper is very poor and it appears that’s there is no QC whatsoever at ARE. Long story short, this topper is garbage and falls way short of my expectations, especially for over $3,000 dollars. I asked for my money back and to return the topper but was told this is not an option. I was also told by the dealer that “all toppers leak” and “bring it in and we will have a look”. The dealer doesn’t seem too motivated to help me out and I guess my standards are too high. Not a happy camper with my crappy camper! Buyer beware.
