Camper Top

I have wanted a camper top for my truck since I bought it. My Ford F150 is a two seater so protected storage space is minimal. The camper top is also part of my hurricane evacuation plan. I now have protected space to take the items most important to me. It also gives me the option to bring along an air mattress and chemical toilet. That may seem odd to some but once you've spent 24 hours stuck on the interstate, you'll understand. I found the workmanship outstanding and exactly what I wanted. The paint job matches my truck perfectly and the installation at Topper World in Slidell, La was great. The day I bought it I got caught in an intense thunderstorm. There was not a drop of water in the truck bed.

Ram topper

Of all the caps I looked at A.R.E. had the most options available to fit individual needs. The dual strip LED strip lighting is a must have, if you need to see deep into the bed of the truck at night. It's nice to have the light switch integrated to the rear door, no need to feel for the switch when your arms are full. The fold down front window is a nice feature to have, it makes cleaning the windows much easier. The only bad point is the single T handle latch on the cap for the Ram, it has such a wide tailgate it makes operating the T handle difficult. I'm sure in the winter when there is snow and ice built up it will be impossible to operate. I think a lever type handle would have been better in this application.
