MX SERIES...Best topper I ever had
MX Series : Nissan Titan

Had my topper built with the side windows hinged at the top and lift up to open...both sides....a slide window up front. These side windows give me great access to my bed and are tall enough and long enough to pass most items through. In some cases I need a stick with a hook to pull items closer, which is no biggie....sure beats having to crawl up inside...bed liners hurt the knees. Best investment I have given to my truck. Buy yourself one, you cannot go wrong.

 MX top with glass door
MX Series : Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra

Really like the top, after 4 years, still looks new and I'm always getting compiments on it. I have a stepside pickup and the cap lines follow the bed lines beautifully! Looks like it came from the GM factory, designed specifically for the truck. The only disappointment is it leaks through one of the rivets above the back door, and both of the trim pieces on driver's side window fell off somewhere along the highway leaving the tape exposed.

MX Series Cap with full open door.
MX Series : Ford F150

Overall I'm happy with my A.R.E. cap but there are three finish issues. 1. The skirt trim on the right side where it's trimmed for the door opening looks like it was trimmed with an axe. Not smooth and cut short. The left side looks fine. (Poor workmanship and Quality Control) 2. Not long after I started using my cap, I opened the main back door and the right door closer bracket broke loose from the door. The rivets pulled out. I took my truck back to the dealer and they relocated the right bracket and re-attached it to the door. That lasted about a week before it pulled out again. I made two taco shaped brackets out of some 6063 aluminum and attached them to the door by blind riveting them to the sides of the bracket then attached the door opener to the new bracket. No problems since. The pull on the door openers was too much and the original two sets of rivets were not long enough to properly attach the bracket to the door. (Poor Design and fastener selection) 3. When the tailgate is removed to install the full open door, there is a strip of metal the tailgate covers. Now exposed, the piece of metal which spans the entire back of my pickup has areas not painted by the factory and are very noticeable. A color matched bolt-on filler panel would be the proper way of addressing this problem. (This item needs to be addressed by A.R.E. Engineering) Overall the cap fits well and looks good. The walk through door and full open door are a great feature and that was the reason I wanted this cap. I had limo tint installed on all the windows so now I can sleep inside and have privacy.
