Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

I was pleased to be notified 2 weeks sooner than expected on the arrival of my cap. I was then informed by the dealer that it had been damaged in shipment and it would have to be returned. They did come to an agreement between the dealer and A.R.E., that I could use the cap for our family vacation, and return it to the dealer once I got back in town ( which I am thankful for). I returned the cap to the Line-X dealer on October 8th. At which time my gas cover was removed from the truck to be able to match the actual truck color to the cap. I was under the impression that my cover would be expedited to the A.R.E. factory to make a color match, and then expedited it back all within a few days. I was also informed that the factory truck had arrived that morning for delivery and pickup therefore, I missed the opportunity for my cap to be returned on that day. I contacted the Line-X dealer October 21st only to be advised that my cap and gas cover we're still there at the dealership. I was very disappointed and disheartened about the situation. I was also informed that the factory truck would be there on the 22nd to pick up the cap and gas cover. I asked about Expediting the gas cover back so it could be placed back on the truck, but was formed that the factory was going to keep it to make sure the cap and color of the truck matched, and it would be returned with the cap. This has been a very disappointing experience with a company that has a well-known reputation nation wide for its products. 2 weeks from the time the cap was returned to the dealer to be picked up by the factory truck is NOT VERY customer friendly; or showing promptness in trying to correct the damage that occurred in shipping. For me to have to continue driving around without a gas cover on my truck for this length of time, is not being fair to me as a customer. Especially after spending the amount of money I have for this cap. The whole time I was in the military(9 1/2 yrs), and 24 years working with the public, I never treated one of my customers as I'm being treated like this. The Line-X dealer has gone above, and beyond trying to make things right, but his hands are tied due to A.R.E.'s lack of promptness in this matter.
