I opted for the additional height for two reasons, first one is obvious, the extra height/headroom secondly it gives my rig that extra security that comes with a fully enclosed secure bed cap. I can load all my gear in the back and don’t have to worry about someone getting into my stuff with just a razor blade, like with those soft tonneau covers. The overall finish looks like it came from the truck manufacturer and not an after thought. Not really satisfied with the detail fit and finish of the product. The rivets used around the aluminum frames are steel and so they rust...6 months and I have rusty rivets. The rear door has sharp unfinished edges to the aluminum trim and the fiberglass is unfinished on the back near the tailgate. I really like that the vista window is now fiberglass fully backed by the cap. My old one has spent many months with tape over the opening because I live 170 miles from my ARE dealer. I also like the cap carpeting.
