Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

Pros- The color is an excellent match . The contours match that of the truck very well. The carpet lining looks good and gives it the appearance of a higher end model. I was concerned that the yakima racks were going to be to flimsy but they are very solid and I would have no problem putting a couple of ladders and some lumber onto them...Cons- The fit and finish around the windoors is not very good, the reveal between the frame and the actual door itself is uneven and inconsistent. Better care and time was needed when the hole was cut into the fiberglass to insure that the frame fit into it properly. The function of the door is not impeded it is more of a cosmetic issue. The worst spots are directly in line with my side view mirrors so it is a condition that is always right in front of my face. The other negative I will give is the rear door security. It feels as if I wanted to I could grab the rear door by the handle and without unlocking it pull on it and it will open easily. For the money spent on the cap I feel this is a serious deficiency. I would rather see a more serious lock on there even if it is more obtrusive than the one currently on there.
