My past two trucks had caps and the fit was a lot better. I purchased a "custom fit" cap for my truck, thinking it was designed and built specifically for my truck bed. When I got it home, I found the rear lift window seal with the tail gate, open enough on each end to stick my finger between the cap and the tailgate. If you look at the tailgate, it has a slight curve. If you look at the rear window, it is flat. Therefore, the rear lift window seals in the middle of the tailgate, but is open on the ends. Also, the locking mechanism is down so low it digs into the top of tailgate.
