I have now had the Z2 topper returned for repair 3 times and still dont like the final result. There has always been paint issues and right now my new topper came with a 2 inch scrape on the front corner. The windows on the side are very hard to open and my rear window had to be replaced due to poor fit the first time. My current unit has a much larger gap on the left side of the rear window than the right side and does not always lock both sides easily. I spent a lot on this product and over a year period they could not get me one that had a decent paint job. To be fair the paint match was very good but always found bubbles or flakes or in this case scratches. The dealer mentioned that quality over the last few years has declined overall while price goes up.

 Terrible Quality Control

I just purchased a Z2, went to get the cap installed and luckily the dealer tested the cap for water leaks. The water was pouring into the cap on the drivers side. Now the cap had to removed and sent back to factory to have the leak repaired. I had waited 6 weeks to have the cap delivered, gave up a full day to have the cap installed now the cap must be returned and I must give up another day to have the cap reinstalled. How does a cap leave a factory and NEVER checked for leaks? Terrible Quality Control

Had A.R.E. toppers on all my trucks growing up and they were solid. Was real excited to buy my first new one for my new truck and it is a cheap piece of plastic. Connections are plastic, handle and window mechanisms are plastic. One of which has broke already, hasn't even been a year. I am glad I spent 5k on a cheap piece of plastic. I am super disappointed in everything minus the Yakima bars on top...
