Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

This cap was installed shortly after I purchased the truck in early 2005. The fit and finish was great and all hardware functioned as designed. The bad news, over time, the cap tended to rack a little bit putting friction on the weather seal causing it to separate from the door. Over 5 years, for a door that got a lot of use, this isn't too bad. My only other complaint was that the door wasn't secure enough to contain bigger loads. 2 or 3 times when the load shifted in the bed and slid against the hatch, the door latches (on the whole hatchback) gave way spilling my load on the road. I don't know if there's a solution for this with a hatchback on a cap. More secure latching mechanism would be a good improvement. Overall, I am quite happy with this cap.
