We purchased our topper as a result of purchase of a like model from another mfgr. in 1987. The other mfgr. no longer makes a full lift gate so our option was A.R.E., glad it was. Our previous unit was satisfactory, but I particularly like the engineering on the A.R.E. Specifically I like the 2 side latches on the gate and the 2 snubber straps on the lower inside corners, GOOD IDEA. So far it seems to be a very good product.
