Being 30 years old and purchasing a truck topper, I received a lot of flak from my fiance and family. Many would say, "That's an old man accessory." I have to say, I absolutely love my topper. I am a boater and also have 2 extra long SUP (stand up paddle boards). One is 11.5 feet and the other is 12.5 feet. When hauling the boat, I have no other place to haul the boards except for on the roof. Coupled with the fact that I wanted to still be able to haul all the extra gear and camping supplies in the back of the truck, and wanted to still keep them all dry, I knew a topper was the best way to go as I knew I could have the Yakima roof racks installed. So far I have recieved many compliments for the topper, mostly from old men, but none-the-less, I personally like it, and thats all that really matters. I have one regret, I went with the cheapest series because of financial reasons and I wish I would have saved up the extra money to get the Z series. I just personally think it looks nicer. I also wish I would have had the carpet lining done to the interior, right now its just white on the inside and the rest of my truck is black. I dont think it looks terrible, just feel like it would have been more aesthetically appealing. The dealership I purchased from did recommend I upgrade the cab window to drop down with slider as it is leaps and bounds easier to clean it.

A.R.E. Mx Series

I recently purchased an A.R.E. Truck Cap, series MX for my Ford F 150. After waiting a month, my cap was installed, but the slider/drop down back window would not close because it was not aligned properly with the frame, and a carpet seam underneath the window was poorly matched (you could see fiberglass where the two pieces of carpet were suppose to match up seamlessly.) Fortunately, the dealer was able to adjust the window, but my long awaited cap is now in transit somewhere back to the factory for repair. The dealer has told me it will probably take another month to get back! I reached out to A.R.E. via their customer relations web page link, received an acknowledgement that my email was received and a promise that someone would get back to me. It is now over a week later and no one has called or emailed me. I also emailed pictures of the bad seam and have heard nothing back from ARE after that either. I don't understand how this carpet seam could have been overlooked by the installer, let alone pass any type of product inspection prior to shipping. The title of this review is "Not happy yet" in the hope that when my cap is returned it is repaired properly and looks the way it should have in the beginning.
