Product Reviews : A.R.E. Truck Caps and Tonneau Covers

I researched several brands of caps for my truck and was convinced that A.R.E. offered a superior product. I am pleased with how well it looks and fits my truck and have no issues with the color match. The electric locking option that I chose to add was a nice addition too. However, I am concerned with the plastic, tailgate cover piece because it seems flimsy. When closing the rear I always find myself being extremely gentle with it because it feels like the plastic will break. In addition, the delivery time for the custom cap was excessive. I was told by the dealer that it would take about 3 weeks to come in, but it took more than 6 weeks. Also, there was sealant glue left on the windows from the factory that I had to carefully scrape off with a razor blade which signals to me that their quality control was not up to par, especially for the high price I paid for the top of the line cap. Finally, it really bothers me that I spend the extra money to get a cap that has a nice liner and then pair it with the bed rug to provide a nice, finished look for the interior...but am forced to look at four ugly metal clamps that hold the cap onto the bed. This ruins the finished look I was trying to achieve. Can't a cover be designed for the metal clamps?
