This is the second tonneau cover from A.R.E. I have purchased. The first one I had installed on a Toyota Tacoma in 1998. It lasted until I sold the truck in 2013. Still worked perfectly. The lift cylinders appeared a little weak in the winter months but never failed. I just purchased the LSII for a new Tacoma in June of 2015 and the quality has improved. Doubt that I would ever buy another competitors lid, why should I when 15 years after install it still works and looks great(no leaks in rain storms while traveling). The paint match is perfect and nothing ever broke. My new lid comes with carpet instead of the naked fiberglass from before. With all the options available you can customize to your personal liking. While the price you pay is slightly above "plastic" covers you get the lockable security that keeps bed contents safe(no one ever broke into my truck bed). These lids also increase the resale value and increase fuel economy. It is certain that my truck will wear out before the lid.
