Thanks for that. Bottom line is that although this lid looks and fits great, it is hard to pull down from fully open because the gas shocks are TOO strong, the locking handle looks great but is cheesy, and the bed rail mounting clamps are very cheesy, as well as the adjustment bumpers are very cheesy. My 1997 lid is still great in every respect. They have always worked well and held up good. My primary need is to keep items in the pickup bed dry and secure. I also want to put in a plug for Pickup Palace in St. Joseph, Mo. They were very meticulous in the installation of the cover. Tonneau cover. I looked at another brand but they just don't have the quality that A.R.E. puts in their products. My 2005 Chevy that I traded for my 2015, the lid on my 05 looked as good when I traded it as the day it was installed. Thanks for making quality products.
