Lockable, it is not easily accessed and deters the morons that would otherwise steal your stuff. This is the 2nd hard cover I purchased and would never consider a soft cover given the circumstances of today's world. The more deterrent the better. The fit is perfect, no leaks, and is easily adjustable if needed to keep the truck paint free from damage. The fit and finish are excellent. I shopped around before I purchased this, and ended up buying ARE for the finish/paint and warranty. We have had a lot of rain and snow, and the bed is completely dry.
