The first was on a 2001 Dodge Ram short bed. It was/is a great product. The clamps that held it to the bed were metal as was the locking mechanism. Shoot forward to 2009. The bed clamps are plastic and so are the locking arms/mechanism. Very shoddy in my opinion, an otherwise great cover and plastic where metal would have been better. Push up on the bottom of the cover under the locking handle and the cover moves up. This action was impossible on the first cover I bought in 2001.
